The history of sodomy and homosexuality is not new in Greece - as I understand it. Present for 5000 years at least.

Good for Greece. I encourage all my Pakistani brothers to go to Greece.

But let's not characterize a whole nation on those lines. I am sure their society is generally not tolerant on homosexuality, especially religious (catholic or Greek orthodox) folks. That they allowed Gay marriage is probably just to boost that business along tourism lines.
