Aircraft carrier. You can say it's useless. But you must have it.

Well in WWII for Japan, and for the Wester powers even in WWI, Aircraft carriers converted from Cargo ships were very common. You just have supporting poles/stilts go up from the hold and framework of the cargo ships to support a platform which uses timber (in the Iranian case, steel sheets). Here is a Japanese early carrier from WWII. A bit detailed but you get the idea.
