Despite India’s much larger economy and (supposed) faster overall growth, Bangladesh’s GDP per capita in current US dollars is projected to be slightly higher than that of India in 2026 (per IMF):

We don't tolerate uneducated fascist dictator third-rate liars like Modi or Hasina as leaders - sorry. Bangladeshis were patient to a degree, until they were not.

Even current PM Tareque may be ousted, if he licks dirty Hindutva feet too much. Bangladesh is not a nation of subservient, meek, submissive knee-benders like India is. Our leaders serve Bangladeshis as free-thinking sovereign people, as all Muslim leaders should. It is expected, or else.

India has a serious unemployment problem for young people.

The economy is growing apace overall, but job creation—especially stable, white-collar or skilled work—has not kept pace with the huge number of graduates entering the labor market every year. Youth unemployment (particularly among educated urban youth) remains much higher than headline national unemployment figures.

What’s happening now is less a classic depression-era unemployment crisis and more a crisis of:
  1. -underemployment,
  2. -precarious gig work,
  3. -exam/job recruitment scandals,
  4. -delayed middle-class aspirations, and frustration among educated young people who feel the “India growth story” is not reaching them personally.
That is the backdrop for the viral “Cockroach Janta Party” phenomenon. The movement emerged after controversial remarks attributed to Chief Justice Surya Kant comparing some unemployed youth to “cockroaches” or “parasites.” Even after clarification attempts, the insult stuck symbolically.

A few things are going on simultaneously:
  1. - Economic frustration became cultural humiliation
    - Many Gen Z Indians already felt mocked by:
- endless competitive exams,​
- paper leaks,​
- unstable employment,​
- pressure from parents, and social media comparisons.​

The “cockroach” label transformed diffuse frustration into a shared identity. Instead of rejecting the insult, young people memed it and reclaimed it. That’s a classic internet-age protest tactic.
  1. - Gen Z political language is different
  2. - Unlike older protest movements built around ideology or party structures, this one is highly ironic, meme-driven, decentralized, and aesthetic. Humor is the delivery system for anger.
The “Cockroach Janta Party” is not really a conventional political party. It functions more like:
  • - a digital protest community,
  • - a satire movement,
  • - and a signal of alienation from mainstream politics.
This mirrors broader global Gen Z trends:
  • - irony mixed with activism,
  • - distrust of institutions,
  • - online-first mobilization,
  • - and emotional exhaustion with formal politics.
  1. Why the movement exploded
    The movement resonated because it condensed several anxieties into one symbol:
  • “We studied hard.”
  • “We did what society asked.”
  • “We still can’t get stable futures.”
  • “And now elites ridicule us.”

The speed of growth—millions of followers in days—reflects how primed the audience already was.

It also reflects weakness in traditional opposition politics
One striking feature is that many young Indians do not feel represented either by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party or by older opposition parties such as Indian National Congress.
So satire fills the vacuum.

Several analysts quoted in reporting argue that the movement’s popularity says as much about opposition failure as about government failure.
  1. Important caveat: social media virality is not the same as mass revolution
    A lot of the online rhetoric is exaggerated. Some supporters frame it as a historic awakening; critics call it shallow meme politics or astroturfing. There are also disputes over follower authenticity and political affiliations.
Most likely, the truth is in between:
  • the grievances are real,
  • the movement is partly performative,
  • but the emotional energy behind it is genuine.
The bigger issue is that India is entering a potentially difficult demographic phase:
  • it has a massive youth population,
  • rising educational attainment,
  • high expectations,
  • but insufficient high-quality job creation.
If that gap persists, internet-native protest cultures like this will probably become more common. The “cockroach” meme itself may fade quickly, but the underlying frustrations—employment insecurity, exam scandals, affordability pressure, distrust of institutions—are unlikely to disappear soon.
