8 foreign nationals were caught in Operation Bozdoğan 32 (a series of operations against ISIS) chemical substances and other bomb materials were confiscated, enough to cause a very big explosion and their plan was to do it in Taksim Square during May 1st celebrations. One of the would be attackers was an active ISIS member in Syria until 2016 and he was trained as a bomb maker there.
