China is always a cheap source for low tech items. We imported wheel from China and will import trainset from Japan.

This is matter of past. India is making its own bullet train which will be ready for testing in a year of time.

Please share more details of high speed railway electric prime movers, projected speeds and their high speed passenger bogie suspension technology. Also how India plans to maintain the rights of ways and tracks.

Even a nation like China had to borrow tech from Germany some thirty years ago to get these items implemented.

And you are claiming India will develop its own bullet train tech with no precedent? In one year?

This will happen with or without help from the Japanese?

Not talking about imported Japanese trainsets, talking about making them in South India - like the Bande-Bharat trainsets?

Indian Railways picks speed on bullet train manufacturing! India is advancing towards domestic manufacturing of bullet trains and associated signalling systems for future standard gauge high-speed corridors, according to senior government officials.

The implementation of significant infrastructure projects, including the bullet train initiative, is expected to accelerate in Maharashtra following recent election results.

The planned indigenous high-speed trains will be developed from the current Vande Bharat platform. The signalling systems for these corridors will facilitate the development of Kavach 5.0, representing the most sophisticated automatic train protection technology.

"Work on the bullet train corridor in Maharashtra picked up pace after the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government took charge. Entire land acquisition is complete and over 320-kilometres of the physical infrastructure work is ready," the official said.

Regarding future high-speed corridors, the official told ET that insights from the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) project will be valuable.

India 's 280 k.m. Bullet train is in making.

If 280 KM Bullet train is based on Bande Bharat, then it will be a disaster.

Bande Bharat is a 70's technology high speed train, not a bullet train.

Bullet trains have completely different suspensions, bogie configuration, wheel arrangement and passenger compartment structure (very light weight, almost like aircraft fuselage) compared to something like Bande Bharat.

Good luck.

Don't worry. We have not designed and flop train/engine/railway system to date. The word used is Vande Bharat Platform.
