These are ubiquitous around India. In fact we make a version at home too. Called a toastie. A boiled potato and vegetable stew with lots of cheese stuffed between two slices. Then pop it into the sandwich griller or the traditional tasty toastie (the square shaped tongs). Non veg guys get chopped boiled eggs and chicken or salami. Its a delicious quick snack. I prefer hot and sweet Kissan over the green chutney though.
I don't know why @Lulldapull is so shocked with this sandwich. Applying butter and toasting is so common in gora countries too. Even veggies in sandwich are so common. Only thing this sandwich misses is meat. And that green chutney is any day better than those shaggy mayo based sauces the goras keep slurping on.

Aray bhai raw tomato raw onion raw red beet and the center was all uncooked no?

Generally an Italian veggie sandwich would be onions and peppers and mushrooms sauteed and then cheese melt on top.

Now that is a veg sammich. With lettuce/ tomato/ salt n pepper and an Italian dressing drizzle.

This is basically a bread wada.

In Nana Peth here in Poona there is an actual bread wada. Two slices stuffed with similar masala potato filling and then pressed and wet moulded into a rugby ball shape with some sort of wet eatery batter (besan?). And then that bomb is deep fried in a kadhai of boiling oil. Green chutney ke saath khao. Pretty delicious. But yes, not too healthy.

This was the best thing in Delhi.

Hot Aloo patty burger served in that typical Indian soft bun.

And the squashed hot samosa with chanay ladled on top.

It is what it is.

If you're really hungry, there is a jumbo wada pav just outside Dadar station (to the right of the entrance of the foot over bridge). Thats pretty cool.

When the kids were small I used to work 3-4 days a week in Bombay.

Would ride my bike up down between Poona and Bombay (that was literally my 180 km commute) with my clean/dirty clothes of the week in a bag bungeed at the back.

I was staying in a guest house in Dadar. Close to the station. Ate a LOT of street food in Bombay. Bombay is heaven food-wise for a working man or woman.

Thousands of small eateries on the roadside. With stools and small tables on the sidewalk in front of each. Food for every palate available. And very cheap.
