This is a white kid who was acting all heroic, but came to his senses, after realizing what could happen after a tussle with the wrong kind of cop (even death). Thankfully the situation was resolved peacefully because this kid was smart and quickly apologized.

Unfortunately some kids aren't so smart and pay with their life.

Unless of course - if they still get admitted to Juvenile Hall (Juvie) being hot blooded, and which too can ruin their life, as it goes on their criminal record.

In this case - no charges were filed. Smart kid.

You could be right about that.

But in the US - generally you don't mess with cops.

If you don't mind me saying so, whole different scenario compared to Canada.

Yes - people say they have "rights" etc. on what to disclose to the cops.

But on the streets - cops are there for a reason, to deal with law-breakers and thugs.

I generally don't advise people to try their luck challenging cops.

Most people just comply with what a LEO or Peace Officer says, produce paperwork and get out of trouble.

Yes-Sir, OK-Sir and all that. Why complicate one's life?

Clearly the kids behavior was unacceptable and in a way he should be taught a lesson. But that cop used a bit of excessive force against him and walked up to him.

But yeah i agree with your point. The kid should have behaved himself. Also if this kid was black/Afro and the cop was white/Euro, this would have been seen as "racist police brutality."
