Cars set on fire on Dhaka-Narayanganj link road - Protesters torched three vehicles at Mouchak area on Dhaka-Narayanganj link road on Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, local journalist Ahsan Sadiq said the army was not seen in Narayanganj town till 11am. Earlier on Friday, several places including the city corporation, PBI building were set on fire. A fire broke out in 26 buses of Sheetal Paribahan in Jhalkuri area of Narayanganj.

My assessment on the situation is that Army can only control the main urban centers with curfews. But they cannot control all of Bangladesh if 175 million people decide to defy curfews and come down to the streets. Even 10 Million youth would be pretty hard to handle.

This should be a nice lesson to those Shivsena and RSS folks who fondly talk about taking over and 'annexing' Bangladesh territory.

1. Thousands of protesters are active in these areas from Uttara, Yatrabari, Malibagh Railgate to Rampura area, Badda, Mohammadpur — of the capital Dhaka.

2. It is reported that Mohammadpur police station has been surrounded.

3. Policemen who rent houses in private areas are being attacked searching for houses.

4. They have not faced any violence even though the army came to the field.

According to AFP, 115 people have been killed so far in this week's protests.

According to the national daily Prothom Alo report, 56 people were killed on Friday. The death toll in the last three days has risen to 103.

All internet connections are down in the country.
Although Bangladesh has been disconnected from the internet connection for more than 45 hours, it is not sure when this service will be available again.
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Chairman Mohiuddin Ahmed has said that the work of reconnecting and repairing the damaged data center and transmission line at the BTRC building in Mohakhali is underway.
Quoting the chairman, the company's public relations officer Nur A Khwaja said that work is underway to restore the internet connection to normal. So far, the work has progressed well.
Although the authorities have talked about the transmission line, mobile internet services are also closed.
There is no clear word on when the internet connection will be restored.
