G  South Asia
We buy rice from you with hard cash. This also helps your farmers and business people.

India has many taker of rice. However, this is not in line with Boycott India campaign. You should learn from Pakistan who for the sake of its ego is not buying few things from India. It is a different matter that they ultimately end up buying Indian goods via UAE or other country. Why don't you do that?

The associated proposal for this purchase was approved by a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed yesterday.

As such, the food ministry will now import the rice through M/S Bagadiya Brothers Private Ltd in India at a cost of $456.67 per tonne.

As per data of the food ministry, Bangladesh had a stock of 11.48 lakh tonnes of food grains as of December 17. Of this amount, about 7.42 lakh tonnes were rice.

The government had imported 26.25 lakh tonnes of food grains, of which 54,170 tonnes were rice, as of December 17 in the current fiscal year.

The government plans to distribute 20.52 lakh tonnes of food grains through various channels in the current fiscal of 2024-25.

Of the total, 8 lakh tonnes of rice will be collected from the local market during the ongoing Aman season. A higher amount will then be sourced locally during the Boro season in early 2025.

Up until December 5, the food ministry had supplied about 11.17 lakh tonnes of rice for various food distribution programmes.

The government has also approved separate proposals for purchasing two cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and 90,000 tonnes of fertiliser (urea) in order to meet the country's growing demand.

The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources has settled on procuring the LNG from M/S TotalEnergies Gas and Power Ltd in Switzerland on floating an international quotation.

One cargo will cost $14.25 per MMBtu and the other $13.87 per MMBtu.

Meanwhile, the industries ministry will buy 90,000 tonnes of urea fertiliser through separate proposals, including to Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will procure 10,000 tonnes of lentils from Sheikh Agro Food Industries in Dhaka, with each kilogramme costing Tk 95.40.

In addition, the TCB will procure 1.10 crore litres of soybean oil from City Edible Oil Limited in Dhaka for about Tk 172.25 per litre.

When you talk too much with loudmouth, you endup getting humiliated like BD. Slowly, they will back to normalcy and end up buying everything which they used to buy from India but this time at higher rate.

Then why don't you stop selling rice to Bangladesh? Bangladesh has other reliable sources like China, Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan, and Myanmar who are eager to sell their agricultural products to us. We buy rice from you because you are a neighbor. If you don't sell we will buy rice from someone else.

Eat bhai. Maybe too late for you.

But your future generations will hopefully grow bigger.

According to you, smelly ugly Bengali runts like Satyajit Ray (Film Maker) and Amartya Sen (Nobel Recipient) had family origins from Bangladesh. So did film and music luminaries like Ritwik Ghatak, Ravi Shankar, RD Burman, SD Burman and the entire lineage of Ustad Alauddin Khan's family. Sen family actresses like Suchitra, Moon Moon, Raima and Riya have origins in Bangladesh, so does Sushmita Sen. All Bengali Smelly ugly runts I guess, per your characterizations.

I could go on and on. A major portion of India's intellectual and cultural capital (to this day) comes from Bengalis originating in Bangladesh - owing to the educated liberal culture. Jihadi takma is just Modi propaganda.

Their families all have roots in Bangladesh, Hindu or Muslim don't matter. Google their background.

All dark, smelly ugly runts - according to you.

Satyajit Ray's grandfather Upendrakishore Ray was born in Masua village, Kishoreganj, Mymensingh in 1863.

Here is Ray in 1940 - I consider him one of the greatest Bengalis of all time.

Nobel recipient Amartya Sen's family was from Bikrampur (Vikramapura) in Bangladesh (which was the capital and center of power for Pala, Sena and many successive dynasties in Bengal). Here he talks about progressive policies to lift up the poor - both in India and Bangladesh. He is a very good friend of our Chief adviser Dr. Yunus.

As were these mostly literary and media luminaries of India listed in the link below, I am also listing some who excelled in Science and technology and brought rare honors to all of India.

By the way - Sarojini Naidu's father was also born in Bikrampur, Bangladesh
