Nor Trump can afford to cut ties with India. It is a foolish title. US and India has Great friendship. There are some trade related issues which are under discussion to achieve an amicable solution. Even India and Pakistan has trade and visa exchanges.

It is not about surplus or deficit. The problem with US is that they want to sell India something which India doesn't want. What India want to buy, they are not ready to sell. They want to sell maze and dairy products but delays engine and weapon delivery. US wants to decide what India should buy from them.

How does he have no knowledge of the Indian economy ??

As a US citizen and also educated there (Caltech, Stanford) - he founded Hotmail (1st web based email back in the day) and later sold it to Microsoft for $400 Million. He is no less talented than Nadella or Pichai and in my mind - one of the top tier Indian tech luminaries.
