Former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that the PPP is well-acquainted with the PML-N, as their leaders are “most vindictive” and tend to hold onto past grudges.

“I believe if we talk about taking revenge, then our purpose of serving the masses won’t be fulfilled,” Bilawal said in reference to the PML-N supremo.

The PPP leader added that Nawaz would resort to revenge tactics if he returns to power, regardless of whether it takes six months or even two years.

SIC did not even try to convince me to not vote for Shehbaz, says Bilawal

Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said that the party had decided to vote for “those who had come to ask” for the prime minister’s election.

He said that the Sunni Ittehad Council, which is now home to PTI-backed independents, did not ask for his vote. “Now how are they objecting that someone is forming the government? […] they were not in any position to form a government in any situation,” he said.

“They decided themselves that they will not ask. So the only option we have is to give a chance to those asking […] PPP will give its input using the parliamentary system,” he said.

“We are thankful to the SIC, they had Maryam Nawaz elected chief minister unopposed. They also did not oppose election of Murad Ali Shah. They did not ask for my vote or convince me not to vote for Shehbaz Sharif, so I think we should thank the PTI and SIC that Shehbaz will also be elected unopposed.”

Bilawal says Zardari to shortlist governors once elected president

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said Asif Ali Zardari would select provincial governors once he becomes president. Zardari has been nominated by the PPP for the president’s slot.

“The PPP’s stance is that […] after completing all the elections, and after Zardari is elected and has taken oath, then he himself will shortlist the governors. Right now the process has not even begun,” he said.
