Far left views sell well in NYC.
That video I posted, one host said that cost of living in NYC went up 24% in just the last 5 years. People living paycheck to paycheck cannot make ends meet anymore in NYC.
Affordability such as Rent control for apartments, free buses and free childcare are no longer 'nice-to-have' options for people living in NYC, they are necessities.
Working class (even middle class) folks in NYC need these necessities met, and as Mayor-to-be, Mamdani has campaigned around them and gotten huge support, beating Cuomo handily. New York City politicians must play to New Yorkers' real affordability needs, these are incumbent issues, not far left extreme propositions.
Any democrat (establishment corrupt centrist democrats like Cuomo, Kirsten Gillibrand and Hakeem Jeffries) who plays identity politics, (Gillibrand calling Mamdani a Jihadi etc.) are not addressing these real NYC issues and will get slapped down in the polls, Gen-X'ers and Millennials aren't as dumb as their New Yorker parents anymore.
These old-guard corrupt centrist NY democrats (whether city, state or federal politics) who were all under aye-pak payroll - will lose come November if they keep on kissing Ya-hood posteriors.
Even most educated NYC Jewish folks are no longer die-hard Ya-hood-land supporters and will not support democrats who play this identity politics calling people like Mamdani "Jihadis".
Mamdani is laser-focused on NYC 'issues' for a reason.
