It is not difficult to promote secularism in Pakistan. Just frog march the military and let the civilian leadership handle the nuclear deterrants. With military out of the picture , religious fanatics will die out without fuel. Pakistan has been run by basically familes in rotation since ZA Bhutto died. Punjab is already a family property of the Sharif brothers. Imran Khan has been indeed jailed by a notorious family law.

Hopefully we can see secularism here, even before iran

Pakistan used to have a solid secular movement in Peshawar before 1947. Many people do not know this fact. Peshawar used to be the socialist hub of the Subcontinent until military juntas on the British payroll in the post-1947 period destroyed it and turned it into what it is today.

Pakistanis typically are very secular minded in comparison to other nations. Yes there's a huge salafi chunk like the Iqbal guy who was here yesterday but I see secularism to be possible here.

Most Pakistani immigrants are usually more religious than the actual Pakistani people. Most immigrants come from low-income neighborhoods of Pakistan that have always struggled economically. They took their religious memes with them when they migrated. Memes work quite the same way as genes, which transfer from generation to generation and replicate.

This reminds me of British Pakistanis. They are wearing Arabic Throbes etc. Probably the same case in Europe. I think the Amercian diaspora is to an extent better.
Look people from poor backgrounds all over the world turn to religion, it's give hope. Anyone would.

The American diaspora is very different, except in some big cities like NY. We American Pakistanis make more money than the average American white, and that is also much higher than the American national average. Usually, the most educated and upper-echelon Pakistanis come to live in the USA.

If you are religious, it’s a dead give away that yous from a lower middle class background.

A mazhabi is not possible unless hes been struggling and the parents/ grandparents have dehati origins.
