The Battle for Hill 3234 (Russian: Бой у высоты 3234, romanized: Boy u vysoty 3234) was a successful defensive battle fought by the 9th Company of the 345th Independent Guards Airborne Regiment, Soviet Airborne Troops, in Afghanistan against a force of some 250 Mujahideen rebels who were supported by several Pakistani mercenaries in early January 1988. Two of the soldiers killed, Vyacheslav Aleksandrov and Andrey Melnikov, were posthumously awarded the Gold Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union. All of the paratroopers in this battle were given the Order of the Red Banner and Order of the Red Star.

Or go to 16:30 to get to the point:

The Battle of The Hill should not be confused for "The Battle of Hilli" which was inarguably the most savagely fought battle of the Indo-Pak War of 1971. As observed by the then Army Commander, Eastern Command, Lt Gen JS Arora, PVSM, “Hilli was the bloodiest battle in the then East Pakistan”.

Interesting. The two names are almost similar and both bloody battles. I'm sure @Vsdoc @Saif @Bilal9 @Sharma Ji @Lulldapull @Old School @ThunderCat @TheNewb77 @Mb444 @Vikings @LeonBlack08 @VCheng Would have some input.

I'll have to do some research, at least provided links to dekh k will comment.

Panjshir, but.. are these the fires that forged the man who was to become the Lion of there ?

I'm not super well read on all the history but operation 'Enduring Freedom' and later ka I'm reasonably well versed, spl in SF ops.. qila e jhangi, Karzai rescue.. ODAs 595/574, Takur Garh etc .. and some, the odd SEAL mission ka reading kara hai.

by far my favorite conflict.. Vietnam ka baad isi me hua scene, old school wars wala... Iraq was too much street fighting/urban combat type

The US sold Iraq to Iran a long time ago. They’re about to sell Israel to Iran now.

Kya aur bolain bhai? It’s inevitable.

Trumps main deal goin be to pull Iran onto his side……and Irans interested in a grand bargain.

The Iranian offer is long in da table…..see if trump realizes the obvious and sells Israel as a theme park mazhabi franchise to Iran.

Fingers crossed 🤞

We defeated Russia in Afghanistan with the full support of the west. 10,000 Russias died and the nature of guerilla warfare in very difficult mountainous terrain in Afghanistan tanked the Russian will to fight it out.

The USSR never lost a single battle in Afghanistan, but they lost the war!

As a side note, this is exactly what Irans tryin do to Israel. We all know how that will end too…….just a matter of time as the Iranians are very pig headed. They won’t budge and Israel’s an itty bitty two bit country. Virtually indefensible.
