Three Bangladesh Air Force personnel were killed and at least four others injured in a road accident while on duty at the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport last night.
The identities of the victims could not be known immediately, said police.
The injured are being treated at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH). Of the four injured, three are in critical condition.
The accident happened around 10:20pm, sources told The Daily Star.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said all three deceased were Air Force members and that several others were injured, adding that detailed information regarding the incident would be shared later in the day.
Sharif Hossain, inspector (operations) of Airport Police Station, around 12:45am today told The Daily Star the three died on the spot after an Air Force pickup lost control and fell from the first level of the third terminal flyover.
However, he could not provide the identities of the deceased and the injured.
