Short Summary: Child of Indus, former Indian PM, Dr Manmohan Singh passed away!!!!
Oh God. Terrible news.

Rest in peace sir.

A gem of a man and one of the pillars on which new India stands today.

Probably the very foundation.

A Congress man old school through and through.

You will ve remembered with respect sir, and missed by a grateful nation.

RIP, much soft spoken man, perhaps to a fault.

Some say he took swift punitive action against Pak based terrorists after 26/11 but it was kept hush. A reluctant Prime Minister, quiet guy. Was he ever really the PM even, or just a front for La Dinastia ?

Also falsely credited as some kind of genius who liberalized our economy. That was all thanks to the collapse of the Soviet Union, India had no choice but to go the full free market economy way.

No, I'm not being a lun' here, this is just my quick assessment of hi, as a politician.

He was a nice man, rest in peace.

'History will be kinder to me': Manmohan Singh's words that seem to be becoming famous

TOI News Desk | TIMESOFINDIA.COM | Dec 27, 2024, 08:32

NEW DELHI: In one of his last press conferences as Prime Minister back in January 2014, Dr Manmohan Singh, who passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday, gave a fitting response to growing criticism about his leadership and remarked that 'history will be kinder to me than the contemporary media.'

The press conference featured questions about the Congress veteran's leadership, which some called weak and indecisive. Singh faced these questions amid Bharatiya Janata Party's campaign to portray their PM candidate Narendra Modi as a strong leader.

Singh defended his record, saying, "I do not believe that I have been a weak Prime Minister. I honestly believe that history will be kinder to me than the contemporary media or for that matter the opposition in Parliament. Given the political compulsions, I have done the best I could do."

He added, "I have done as well as I could do according to the circumstances. It is for history to judge what I have done or what I have not done."

Singh's term ended when Narendra Modi became PM in May 2014.

Criticising Modi and the 2002 Gujarat riots, Singh had said, "If you measure the strength of Prime Minister by presiding over mass massacre of innocent citizens on streets of Ahmedabad, then I do not believe in it. I do not think that this kind of strength this country needs least from its Prime Minister. I sincerely believe what Narendra Modi is saying is not going to materialise," he stated.

He also highlighted the Congress party's success in managing coalition governments during his two terms, saying compromises were made on 'peripheral issues and not on national problems.' When asked about internal criticism within the Congress, Singh responded, "Nobody has asked me to step down because of any inadequacy that characterised my tenure as prime minister."

“I do not minimise the difficulties that lie ahead on the long and arduous journey on which we have embarked. But as Victor Hugo once said, “No power on earth can stop an idea whose time has come”.
I suggest to this august House that the emergence of India as a major economic power in the world happens to be one such idea. Let the whole world hear it loud and clear. India is now wide awake. We shall prevail. We shall overcome.”
~ Dr Manmohan Singh

Probably Sanghis are not to be blamed. Many in India lack a mind of their own. They just believe what the corrupt media says. And recall how Manmohan led government got a bad press due to Anna Hazare movement.
do you have any Idea same ANNA HAZARRE was construct of same Man Mohan Singh Govt when he during on of his Budget speeches as a Finance Minister told the press about same Anna Hazarre and his village rallegan sidhhi and how he tranfrmed it with his so called ghandinian ideas ;) :P

so be it Anna Hazarre or be it Aam Aadmi Parti /Arvind Kejrval who himslef was partner in a NGO with Sadeep Dixit S/O then Congress CM Shiela Dixit all were product of Congress ecosystem even this new wave of Commi leaders from Jignesh Mewani to Hardik Patel to Khaniya Kumar to Shehla Rashid all were Congress ecosystem products some like Kanihya Kumar became usefull others like Hardik Patel , Jignesh mevani & Shehla Rashid were thrown is dustbin
