I saw a video this morning (will try to post it soon) where students in organized fashion - were escorting police forces out of protest zones to save them from the wrath of public anger. It may or may not have been in Dhaka.

Understandable as the police people are generally coming from under-served poor families and communities and have 'bought' their appointments by selling off land and belongings to earn a better living.

Such efforts by students to 'save' the police (and considering them human) - is indeed exemplary and highly commendable.

It is also understandable why most of the police force (if not RAB and BGB) will now try to stand down from opposing and firing on the students.

They have understood that this is a popular uprising now - and the autocrat must go.

Game over. Army withdrawn their support today. Government will fall at anytime in coming days.

There is already talk of caretaker or NDA administration under Dr. Yunus (who is in Paris).

There will be a new party, and the discussion is currently going on in Washington. However, there is no chance for the Zia family.

The army chief is the son-in-law of former chief General Mustafiz, who was, in turn, the uncle of Hasina's husband, Wazed Mia.
