Major Customs Seizure at Torkham Border: US-made Weapons Worth Crores Recovered, Taliban Facilitating Smuggling into Pakistan.
Customs authorities at the Torkham border have seized a large cache of US-made weapons and ammunition worth approximately Rs. 3.5 crores.
The arms were hidden in a coal-laden truck coming from Afghanistan.
Sources have claimed that Afghan Taliban border control authorities are fully complicit in the smuggling operations, facilitating the transport of these weapons to Fitna Al Khawarij.
The Taliban's involvement in enabling such activities, allowing these arms to be funneled into Pakistan for terrorist activities.
Among the seized weapons are:
15 M4 rifles
170 magazines
5,100 cartridges
Customs officials confirmed that the weapons and ammunition are of US origin, and a case has been registered as the investigation continues.
This seizure highlights the growing challenge of US leftover weapon smuggling from Afghanistan into Pakistan, which poses a serious threat to regional stability.
