Chinese weapons are fine, when used properly........its just that our defense budget is $6 billion vs Indias $60 billion man. They've got a shiit load more toys to throw into the mix and now we are seeing the results of this economic imbalance.

Pakistan needs to consult Iran here and develop a proper asymmetrical eco-system to counter India otherwise these Chinese donated weapons are not going to cut the mustard bro.

What we need is our own defense industry with dozens of missile types and drones like Iran is fielding and more importantly winning.

I'm sorry if Iran can have a world class AD system and a drone program and an over the top ballistic missile program, all under their own steam, then we are not stupid people and we should replicate their progress.

Iran is our neighbor, not some country out in Europe or the west.

Kya hai latest ? here our msm still showing yesterday raat ki clips
US has given India a green light to demolish the reputation of Chinese supplied air defenses and assorted weaponry to Pakistan.

This is exactly whats going on bhai.

Pakistan making wild claims and India quietly accomplishing what it wants to no?

$6 billion dolla military vs $60 billion dolla military bhai......

Seedhi seedhi baat hae......no amount of Chinese help will change this equation no?

That other forum so polluted with nonsense and junk claims, you can't stay over there bhai. Total full of chutiya people dat other forum.

Aaap k 9 madarsay saari dunya k saamnay India nay urra diye, and yous can't even react other than fake twitter doctored up memes?

I got sick of that forum.

How Chinese weapons are fine? China sales HQ 9 but buys S400. China claims that they have fifth generation plane but goes and buy Su30 and Su35. Name a nation who has fifth generation plane and yet buys 4th generation plane. Chinese weapon's reliability is totally exposed. Nothing worked. Jf17, J10, Hq9, HQ16, PL-15. All proved to be junk. HQ16 near Lahore was shot down by Indian drone.

New Delhi:
On the evening of May 8, Pakistan initiated a drone and missile attack targeting several cities in India. In a significant response, India retaliated with a similar level of force. As part of its countermeasures, India successfully shot down an Advanced Warning And Control Systems (AWACS) aircraft belonging to the Pakistan Air Force within Punjab province in Pakistan. For the unversed, AWACS are airplanes with a large radar-dish mounted on the top of the airframe. These airplanes, with their high-powered radar, act as eyes in the skies. These airborne warning systems are more capable than ground mounted radars, due to land-based radars' physical limitations of the Earth's curvature limiting their field-of-view.

Pakistan currently operates nine AWACS (Airborne Early Warning and Control Systems). In 2006, the country ordered four Saab-2000 Erieye AWACS from Sweden, followed by the purchase of four ZDK-03 AWACS from China in 2008. However, the Chinese AWACS were retired in 2024. Pakistan has also expanded its fleet by adding three more Erieye aircraft each in 2017 and 2020. Given the retirement of the Chinese AWACS, it’s possible that the one India shot down could be a Saab-2000 Erieye. Here’s what you need to know about this aircraft.

Saab 2000 Erieye

The Saab 2000 Erieye is a comprehensive AWACS system that offers multi-role and multi-mission capabilities, catering to both military and civil applications. The Erieye covers a significantly broader area than traditional ground-based sensor systems. Its effective surveillance radius exceeds 500,000 square kilometers horizontally and reaches over 60,000 feet vertically. The sea coverage is only limited by the horizon, allowing it to detect and track a variety of targets, from fighter jets and hovering helicopters to cruise missiles and even Jet Ski-sized objects.

The radar is designed to swiftly detect and track objects with high precision and an impressive update rate. The system boasts an endurance of over nine hours and a range that exceeds 2,000 nautical miles (3,705 kilometers).

At present, the Indian Air Force (IAF) operates a total of five AWACS aircraft. This includes three Israeli EL/M-2090 Phalcon systems mounted on Russian IL-76 A-50E/I heavy-lift jets, which were purchased in 2004 and inducted into service in 2009. Additionally, the IAF has two Netra Mk-1 systems that are mounted on Brazilian Embraer business jets and were brought into service in 2017.

India-Pak War: Pakistan's F-16 And 2 JF-17 Jets Shot Down By India

India-Pak War: Pakistan's F-16 And 2 JF-17 Jets Shot Down By India
New Delhi: Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, India has shot down Pakistan Air Force's F-16 as well as two JF-17 aircraft after Pakistan tried to attack multiple locations in Jammu and Punjab, government sources said.

Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan made attempts to target several locations in India; however, Indian air defence guns shot down the intruding drones.

India also shot down Pakistan's Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) inside its Punjab province, sources said, adding that it fell on their side.

Meanwhile, drone attacks have also been foiled in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur and Rajasthan's Jaisalmer, and a drone was shot down in Akhnoor.

Two Kamikaze drones were also shot down in Poonch.

According to sources, the Indian SAM (Surface-to-air missile) shot down the F-16 fighter jet near the Sargodha air base.

Notably, F-16 is one of Pakistan's main fighter jets that it procured from the US. Along with it, the JF-17 is another crucial fighter aircraft. The F-16 fighter jets, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, were given to Pakistan in the late 1980s. These jets were also used by the Pakistan Air Force after India's Balakot air strikes in 2019.

Earlier, Pakistan also attempted a missile strike in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer region late on Thursday, prompting a swift response from India's air defence systems.

India's S-400 And Harpy Drones Crush Pakistan's Drone Plot In Jammu's Samba Sector

The air defence systems in the region have been fully activated to intercept and neutralise incoming threats. More than 70 missiles have been destroyed mid-air, preventing any damage to ground targets, sources said.

In a major escalation, Pakistan simultaneously attacked several locations in Jammu, including the airport. Rockets were fired at Jammu from across the International Border on Thursday night.

One of the drones hit the Jammu Civil Airport, prompting fighter jets to scramble in response. India activated its air defence systems, which successfully intercepted the incoming rockets.

Pakistani troops have also resorted to unprovoked shelling along the Line of Control in Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Samba, and Uri districts of Jammu and Kashmir late on Thursday evening.

Eight Pakistani missiles were intercepted by the S-400 air defence system over Jammu airport, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia, and nearby areas. Two Pakistani drones were downed near Jammu University.

The Integrated Defence Staff in a statement said, "Military Stations of Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur in proximity to the International Boundary, in Jammu and Kashmir targeted by Pakistan using missiles and drones. No losses. Threat neutralised by #IndianArmedForces as per standard operating procedure with kinetic and non-kinetic means."

The escalation by Pakistan followed less than 48 hours after India launched Operation Sindoor targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-

Indian Army Air Defence Akashteer SystemIndian Army Air Defence Akashteer Project

India has taken a significant leap in modernizing its defence capabilities with the Indian Army’s Project Akashteer, a pivotal initiative aimed at reshaping the nation’s air defence infrastructure. As part of the Army’s ambitious “Decade of Transformation” and “Year of Tech Absorption” efforts, Project Akashteer is setting new standards for agility and precision in countering contemporary aerial threats.

The project recently passed a major milestone with a real-time validation exercise, where advanced simulations replicated the complexities of modern warfare scenarios. Senior Army officials witnessed the validation and lauded the Akashteer team’s achievements in pushing the boundaries of India’s air defence capabilities. A senior military official highlighted the project’s transformative impact, calling it a game-changer for the Indian Army’s preparedness against high-speed aerial threats.

Key Features and Strategic Benefits of Project Akashteer

Akashteer brings together advanced automation, rapid decision-making, and unparalleled situational awareness. Here’s a breakdown of its groundbreaking features and the strategic advantages it provides:

Comprehensive Sensor Fusion: Akashteer integrates air defence sensors from the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force (IAF), creating a unified and accessible air picture across all operational levels. The system ensures seamless coordination and heightened situational awareness by fusing land-based sensors through a “bottoms-up” approach, essential for swift threat response.

Automated Operations for Faster Reaction: Split-second reactions are critical in high-stakes air defence. Akashteer’s fully automated data processing eliminates the need for manual data entry, saving valuable time that can mean the difference between neutralizing or missing a fast-moving aerial threat. For example, an aircraft at supersonic speed can cover 18 kilometres in one minute—Akashteer’s automation ensures optimal response within such a narrow window.

Decentralized Engagement Authority: To enhance response speed and tactical flexibility, Akashteer decentralizes engagement authority, empowering frontline units to make swift decisions while minimizing friendly-fire risks. This feature is particularly advantageous for units stationed along sensitive borders in Northern and Eastern Commands, where Akashteer’s systems are already operational.

Advanced Real-Time Air Picture: Leveraging data from 3D Tactical Radars, Low-Level Lightweight Radars, and the Akash Weapon System, Akashteer consolidates a real-time, multi-dimensional air picture. This comprehensive view strengthens both strategic planning and on-the-spot responses, giving Indian forces a decisive advantage in maintaining airspace security.

Redundancy and Scalability: The system is designed with built-in redundancy, ensuring resilient communication and connectivity under challenging conditions. Akashteer also supports both software and hardware upgrades, making it adaptable to future technological advancements and evolving operational needs.

Flexible Deployment Across Formations: Akashteer meets the diverse operational needs of Indian defence forces, providing mobile, adaptable platforms for strike formations and fortified land-based systems for pivot formations. This flexibility allows Akashteer to support a wide range of tactical scenarios, strengthening India’s defences on multiple fronts.

Induction Timeline and Roadmap for Future Readiness

Project Akashteer’s deployment is being carried out in phases. So far, 107 of the required 455 systems have been delivered, with an additional 105 units scheduled for delivery by March 2025, according to Indian Army sources. Full deployment is expected by March 2027, ensuring comprehensive air defence coverage across the Army’s formations.

With Project Akashteer, the Indian Army is positioned at the forefront of air defence technology, marking a new era in securing India’s skies. This milestone highlights the dedication of India’s defence forces to innovate and enhance capabilities in response to evolving security challenges, ensuring that the nation’s airspace remains vigilant and secure against all forms of aerial threats.
