Over generalization is the enemy of sane thought. As desi people we see one or a few examples - then we start with painting in too broad a brush.

Muslims are this - Hindus are that. Do we have Muslim or Hindu written on our forearms?

People are individuals, they have individual streaks whether being charitable or committing heinous crimes.

Saying "crime rates of Hindus are minimal" is such a fallacy. It depends on class, background, wealth, education and so many other things. You can't generalize. Also crimes are well-reported in some countries, others not so much.

Here are the crime rates (esp. rape and murder but also assault rates which some say is pretty important) between Muslim Majority Bangladesh and Hindu Majority India. What does it say? That's right. Jack squat. You can't make a judgment.
