In a striking demonstration of technological prowess and operational precision, the Indian Air Force (IAF) successfully bypassed and jammed Pakistan’s Chinese-supplied air defence systems during Operation Sindoor, completing the mission in just 23 minutes, according to the official documents.
The operation, conducted on the morning of 8 May 2025, targeted critical Pakistani air defence radars and military installations, including a key facility near Lahore. All Indian assets returned safely, underscoring the mission’s flawless execution, said the official statement.

Operation Sindoor

The PIB document mentioned that Operation Sindoor, launched as a calibrated military response to escalating asymmetric warfare and cross-border terror attacks, marked a significant milestone in India’s defence capabilities.
The operation was triggered after Pakistan’s coordinated drone and missile strikes on multiple Indian cities, including Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, and Bhuj, on the intervening night of 7 and 8 May.

India’s Integrated Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Grid and layered air defence systems successfully intercepted these threats, employing radars, missile batteries, and electronic countermeasures.
India's offensive strikes targeted key Pakistani airbases- Noor Khan and Rahimyar Khan with surgical precision. Loitering munitions were used to devastating effect, the release read.
In retaliation, the IAF struck Pakistan’s air defence infrastructure with surgical precision, neutralising several Chinese-built HQ-9 and HQ-16 surface-to-air missiles.

The Indian forces used a combination of indigenous technologies such as the Akash missile system, Barak-8, and the Russian-made S-400 (Sudarshan Chakra), alongside electronic warfare tactics to jam and bypass enemy radars.
India has emerged as a major defence manufacturing hub, driven by the "Make in India" initiative and a strong push for self-reliance. In FY 2023-24, indigenous defence production reached a record ₹1.27 lakh crore, while exports soared to ₹23,622 crore in FY 2024-25, a 34-fold increase from 2013-14.

Technological edge and strategic significance

Operation Sindoor showcased India’s growing self-reliance in defence technology, particularly in electronic warfare and drone combat.
The IAF’s Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS) played a pivotal role in coordinating the strikes, while loitering munitions and drone warfare were effectively deployed to dismantle Pakistan’s air defence network.

12 - 16 kilometers range it says

jets can deliver stand off weapons from much further away

this is the 'hail mary' defence play, before they go to AAA guns.. those are also automated, Phalanx type cannons
Bhai that’s the range of its air to air missiles. It can fly a radius of 500 miles on AD missions.

You won’t need manned aviation in a decade when countries already on this track.

haan, but abhi minimum decade type to they not going anywhere.. longer probably, would be my guess.

if a manned platform is better, more capable.. they'll stick to it.. human life ki itni bhi kadr ni hai kisi ko

shot down and killed ka risk increase ho jayega, but people will still be throwing men in those machines... men ki kami nahi hai.. us time pe ja ke, pilot ki aukaat bhi infantryman waali ho jayegi.. ki kabhi bhi mar skte ho bc

Most Pakistanis are quiet now after the scale and seriousness of the Indian attack is coming to light and the ISPR is struggling to control their narrative.

Had this war continued for a few more days, India would have intensified Scalp and Brahmos strikes and caused a lot more damage.

And the IN chief has quipped that the IN parked 285 kms south of Karachi was poised to launch dozens of sea brahmos in a concentrated salvo at the port in Kemari and possibly also target Gwader and Ormara naval stations.

PN is no match for IN and it would've been a disaster.

Thankfully nothing happened.

What actually hapenned to PAF and its main air basess and missile depot's and other very important "storage facilities" will take at least a month if not more for PAF & Your sequirty establishemnt or they will take that time to disclose the ammount of damage they have taken since almost all of the prime targets were taken out clinically in just one night and they were painted for last so many years and intellegence for the was gatherred over the years with help of assets on the ground in Air and in the Space and by those who actually desigened and build it .... thats why indian missile strikes were so accurate and decisive but all ISPR with its liffaffa media & its HUB BUL WATTN Social media Bott army was mock some kind of fictitious claims bout aprihending a female pilot of IAF and shooting down X number of IAF jets and destroying some imaginarry IAF airbase ;) :P

Its a terrible situation for our military now and a real humiliation.

This has never happened before which is basically a complete rout!

One thing is for sure now that Pakistan will go for the asymmetric route and a lot of our legacy weapons will be going to the scrap heap. The PAF will quite possibly get defunded and a new search for improved AD, Ballistic/ Hypersonic missiles and drones will take precedence.

Evidently both the PAF and our AD failed miserably.

The scalp/ storm shadow flies in at 500 knts at tree top height and the Brahmos does Mach-3 at 10m to 20m (selected by operator).

Both are near impossible to detect, let alone shoot down.

The Maxar footage of damage inflicted on Pak bases is easily available from OSINT sources is quite compelling leading to many now coming around to accepting the reality with no counter footage/ satellite pics of damage to Indian bases targeted by Pakistan.

I wonder how our DG ISPR can sit on these media conferences with a straight face.

Yeah, we did take a beating this time around.......no shame in admitting it.
