Russia has announced the deployment of the S-500 "Prometheus" air defense system, the final piece of the puzzle necessary for a first nuclear strike.
The Russians now believe they can repel a NATO counteroffensive nuclear strike, which changes the balance of strategic power between the two camps.
Kinzhal, Avangard, Sarmat, RSM-56 Bulava and now the S-500. In combat service, almost all of Russia's strategic weapons "unties" the hands of the Russian military leadership.
The second significant development is that during Phase B of tactical nuclear weapons exercises, Russia deployed its nuclear forces far away from nuclear weapons storage centers and bases.
They have been spotted Iskander-M with nuclear missiles at distances even 500 km away from their bases in the direction of Ukraine. This is something extremely unusual.
Nuclear forces have also been deployed on the Belarusian side, so Ukraine is effectively encircled with nuclear weapons.
The head of 12 GUMO, the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defence responsible for nuclear weapons, also spoke about the issue. Lieutenant General Igor Kolesnikov talked in front of a Belarusian Su-25 carrying a nuclear warhead.
He said it was a "training nuclear warhead," but NATO did not believe the designation "training."
