Security forces neutralised 12 terrorists of Fitna al Khawarj (previously known to be TTP) in North and South Waziristan, while six soldiers were martyred during clashes on September 19 and 20, the military announced on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on September 19, security forces intercepted a group of seven militants of Fitna al Khawarji,attempting to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border near the Spinwam area in North Waziristan.

In the ensuing exchange of heavy fire, all seven militants were killed. The forces recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the group.

A second clash occurred in the Ladha area of South Waziristan, where militants attacked a security post. The attack was thwarted by the forces, who eliminated five militants.

However, six soldiers were martyred during the intense gunfire.

Clearance operations are currently ongoing in the region to ensure the elimination of any remaining militants.

Pakistani security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism and safeguarding the nation, with the sacrifices of their soldiers further strengthening this resolve.

Earlier this month, a remote-controlled bomb blast in South Waziristan injured 10 people, including six police officers, on Tuesday. The police vehicle, which was transporting officers to duty, was targeted in the attack.

According to rescue officials, the explosion occurred as the police officers were being transported in a private vehicle to the Krikot Road in Wana Rustam Bazar area of South Waziristan.

The powerful blast was heard across a large distance.

The injured included police officers Aurangzeb, Muhammad Tahir, Kamran, and Attaullah, along with civilians Syed Akhtar, Amanullah, Abid, Habib Jan, Noor Khatam, and Noor Salam.

Rescue 1122 teams responded promptly, providing medical aid on-site before transferring the injured to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.

Police forces also reached the scene to gather evidence and launch an investigation into the incident.

In another remote controlled IED attack, a son of a tribal elder was killed on his car in Lower South Waziristan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

According to police, Malik Jamil's vehicle was targeted with a remote-controlled IED in the Kari Kot area. As a result of the explosion, Malik Jamil Toji Khel, Malik Abdul Rasheed, Gulzada, and Muhammad Ullah were injured and transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

This was the third remote-controlled bomb attack on prominent political figures in South Waziristan Lower this year.

On June 7, a remote-controlled explosive device targeted the vehicle of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam's district chief, Maulana Meraz Jan, near Wana Bazaar, severely injuring him.

He succumbed to his injuries on June 19 while undergoing treatment.
 
On 19/20 September 2024, two fierce encounters took place between own troops and the terrorists in North and South Waziristan Districts, resulting in killing of twelve Khwarij.

On 19 September, movement of group of seven terrorists, trying to infiltrate Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was detected by security forces in general area Spinwam, North Waziristan District.

The infiltrators were surrounded, effectively engaged and after an intense fire exchange, all seven khwarij were sent to h..ell.

A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was also recovered.

In a second incident in general area Ladha, South Waziristan District, a group of khwarij attacked a security forces’ post.

Own troops fought bravely, foiling the attempts of intrusion and killed five Khwarij.

However, during intense exchange of fire, six brave sons of soil, having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat.

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN / LAKKI MARWAT: Eight security personnel have been martyred in separate attacks in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the military’s media wing and police.

In the Ladha area of South Waziristan, a group of militants attacked a checkpoint of security forces, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed in a statement.

In the ensuing exchange of fire with the security forces, five alleged militants were killed.

“However, during [an] intense exchange of fire, six brave sons of soil, having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat,” the ISPR statement read.

Earlier on Thursday, at least seven terrorists attempted to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan district,“ the statement read.

The border forces detected the incursion and “surrounded” the infiltrators. In the exchange of fire, security forces killed all seven militants.

A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the possession of the alleged terrorists.
