The possibility of Hasina's coming back to power is the same as the possibility of Dinosaur's coming back to Earth.
USA is unfortunately not yet ready for a woman president. :-(
Sitting in California or the Eastern Seaboard- most progressives are in a bubble and do not understand the mood of the country.
Young males 18 to 35 are almost all Trump voters now.
College students in PA all voted for Trump, all 400,000 of them.
This election upturned all kinds of expectations.
Democrats paid a heavy price for their support of genocide which they totally miscalculated.
I think they've been ready for a woman President for years, decades even.
Just haven't got the right candidate. The mistake the dems made now, exactly as with crooked Hillary, was to deploy a real hardliner feminist type.
At least crooked Hillary had srs credentials backing her, war time Sec state and first lady. Kamla was kinda in the same mould, just lacking that much cred.
I watched this closely for months, since before the GOP primaries even. Dems needed a VERY STRONG candidate to take on the force of nature The Donald is.
What'd they do, but ? doubled down on identity politics ! and picked a horribly unlikable weirdo cackling witch who not many there knew about, she scored poorly on name recognition too.. the entire world knows Trump.
Trump = yuge family, yugely successful businessman.. man had a few marriages go under, but overall still seen very much as a familyman, tough guy patriarch.. and he's funny and charismatic as hell. He is as far as one can get from a boring old white man bible thumper caricature of a Republican politician.
The Dems have now become what the old Republicans were, pushing a weird ideology.. they are now the edgy "cool" ones, the punk rockers, the hippies, the dreamers..

Technically Kamala was the first woman and first black female and South Asian President of the US.
Nobody elected her, she was first to drop out of the Dem primaries when Biden ranTechnically Kamala was the first woman and first black female and South Asian President of the US.
