Yes. Agree. But we are a majority non vegetarian country. We don't want to see animals and birds being killed to fill our plates. But we want meat on our plates. Poultry is fully industrialized. Hence so cheap. Animal husbandry never was. Hence it is an informal unorganised sector. Largely dominated by mulls. Reason being we are a very densely populated land. When land is at a premium. And used for agriculture. To grow beef and indeed goat and sheep rearing at the scale of western countries, you need shite tonnes of land and water, which we do not have to spare. You are a money man. This is pure money and economics. Zero Hindu culture involved.

To further press home my point



Vegetarianism is an economic phenomenon.
