Not possible in Brahmins. We follow Gotra system. It is not possible that our forefathers were same even 100 generations ago. For example, my Gotra is Bharadwaj, I can not marry in Bharadwaj Gotra Girls. This is one of the reason why Brahmins are considered to be the most intellectual community. Even in US, they used the word Brahmins for their intellectual people. Boston Brahmins.
