We grow some of the finest apples here in Himachal, Kashmir etc.. still to figure out why we import these.. fruit sellers are full of california apples and grapes, Chinese tangerine, South African pear, New Zealand ke angoor and god knows what else.. a lot of imported stuff, I don't get why.

Apples aren't really a major California crop, though other items (Vegetables, Oranges, various nuts, dates and of course grapes/wine) are.

Major apple growing occurs in Oregon and Washington state farther up the Western Coast of the US...
