The Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), a new armed group, has attacked the branch of Sonali Bank in Ruma upazila of Bandarban. The terrorists looted Tk 1.6 crore and four weapons from the bank's vault. The attack took place around 9 pm on Tuesday.

Mohammad Osman Gani, regional director of Sonali Bank's Bandarban region, said it was heard that KNF terrorists took away Nizam Uddin, manager of Sonali Bank's Ruma branch. The Ruma branch is supposed to have Tk 1.6 crore. They broke into the vault. Security has been beefed up at all bank branches in the region following the incident.

Witnesses said 70 to 80 armed members of the KNF surrounded the Ruma Upazila Parishad area around 9pm. They went to Sonali Bank and snatched weapons from the police and Ansar members guarding the bank and started beating them. They broke into the bank and ransacked it.

Ruma Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Didarul Alam said KNF members looted the Ruma branch of Sonali Bank. Four weapons were looted from the police-Ansar members guarding the bank. He added that the KNF terrorists also beat worshippers in the mosque and took their mobile phones.

It could be possible! As I also read somewhere ( perhaps in 2013 ,can't remember exactly ; but I still have the link, it's a Bengali blog) that Talibans are actually the creation of ISI and Pakistan armed forces and where they don't want to do official operations , they use Talibans!

So I won't be surprised if Bangladesh govt also has such group! But it's important to control them! If Bangladesh armed forces can control them properly, they also can be government asset!

That is a convenient way to pay any illegal entity because you cannot pay them under government accounting regime which is subject to regulatory audit. So, you allow them to loot a government bank and not a private bank!!

So what if they get caught by police ( which is highly unlikely I know , but let's assume it) they will be sent to jail!
