The Bangladesh Army had close ties with Nathan Bawm, the leader of the rogue Kuki Chin National Front. The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 24th Infantry Division even attended an event hosted by the Kuki Chin National Development Organization (KNDO) in 2015. The brigade commander of the 69th Infantry Brigade also inaugurated the central office of KNDO. According to multiple military sources, some senior officers of the Bangladesh Army played a significant role in establishing the organization that the KNF has become today. Why the KNF turned against the Bangladesh Army that supported it all along is a mystery.
