What does Diwali have to do with being Hindu or Sikh?

It is a national festival in India much like Christmas is in Christian countries.

Or Eid in Muslim countries I'd imagine.

You dont need to be a Hindu to like wearing colorful traditional clothes, lighting diyas, doing rangoli (chalk we call it), cleaning and sprucing up the house, putting up lights, eating sweets and chaklis and assorted faral, having a break, spending time with family and friends, enjoying the glitter and the vibe all around.
