G  South Asia
Very sad. These were innocent people no longer with us, their political affiliation is the last thing we should look at right now.

Be a decent human being, even if in mistreatment. Such is the teaching of Islam.

Rest in Peace all....

I have my own (educated) hunches on why this happened. Either overloading, compressor stalls (possibly both engines) or wrong flap/slat settings. Which is corroborated by others,

This link has video corroborating what I thought, flap/slats not set properly for takeoff (pilot error).

The normal takeoff flap setting for the Boeing 787 is typically between 5 to 10 degrees, depending on the aircraft's load and conditions. Settings above 10 degrees, such as 15 or 17 degrees, are less common and may indicate an issue with the aircraft's systems.

For landing the Boeing 787, flap settings typically range from Flaps 25 to Flaps 30, depending on conditions such as weight and wind.

Whatever the scenario, it seems the aircraft had trouble gaining both speed and altitude.

Also telling was the fact that the aircraft engines were found to be silent before impact (not roaring as normal as the videos show), indicating problems with both engines and/or fuel supplied.

Can we rule out overloading as well. Too early to say, but if so, the engines would be strained, using maximum power, which they are not, as seen.

I'm sure this incident will be investigated to the hilt so that such a horrific thing can never happen again.

Meanwhile - let's observe a moment of respectful silence for those untimely and sadly departed.
