Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will grace the stage in Dhaka: will donate remuneration to families of July Uprising Martyrs

A platform of Dhaka University students named "Spirits of July" has organized a charity concert to support the families of martyrs and injured in the student uprising. A charity concert titled "Echoes of Revolution" will be held on December 21 (Saturday) at the capital's Army Stadium. World famous musician Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and some popular local bands will perform songs in the concert.
Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation to support the families of those martyred and injured in the July uprising.
The organizers gave this information in a press conference at Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University (DU) on Friday (November 29) at 4 pm.
The written statement said, โWe want to support the families of those injured and killed in the movement with the entire proceeds from the concert. In this context, donations will be made to 'July Shaheed Smriti Foundation', an organization working with the families of the martyrs and injured in the July massacre during the student uprising."
Noting that the main attraction of the concert will be world famous musician Rahat Fateh Ali Khan performing effortlessly, the written statement further said, โOn November 28, a contract was signed with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for 'Spirits of July'. In this contract, he has promised to perform at our concerts free of charge. In other words, his remuneration will also be paid to the families of the injured and killed."
The concert will also feature country music bands Artcell, Chirkut, Ashes, Aftermath and rap artists Shejan and Hannan for a small fee. Apart from the music, the concert event will also have various corners including July Revolution-related graffiti exhibitions, stage plays and enchanted water zones.
