Well I think that is the long term plan anyway, to patrol our economic zone using subs at the very least and protect our sea land from any adventurism by any neighbors. That is the minimum deterrent we need to have naval (maritime) leverage against any hegemonistic designs by any neighbor.

But I don't know if the present interim govt. will reciprocate the positivity emanating from the Chinese envoy today. maybe they'll tow the neutral line until the elections. The armed forces would certainly like to continue the present cooperation with Chinese military hardware suppliers.

I am hearing from some quarters that the interim govt. will stay more than the 90 days promised to the BNP and to AL (!).

One cannot undo the politicization damage done to all govt. depts. (even universities) in 90 days which has been perpetrated in the last 15 years. The advisers are doing their level best, but a bureaucracy takes time to minimally transform itself, much less improve itself.
