225% Tariff or not, US loses more on exports to Canada being tariffed even at 25%. Canada is sitting on unlimited oil reserves. No one there gives anything about US tariffs on Canadian products. They could care less.

The US will be the loser at this game. Let's wait for the analysis.
There are a lot many more instruments of leverage Trump can work. What good is oil anyway without anyone drilling it ?

Just watching all this from a distance here, lets see how it goes, fun times ahead.

Canada will fold and Orange man will prevail.. watch.

Trump bhot harami cheez hai, he got plenty of aces up his sleeve, and close to absolute power for the next 2 years at least before their next mid term elections.

A Dubya would say, do not misunderestimate him.

Maybe you are attributing a lot of smarts to him.

I find his lack of common sense to be breath-taking, which is aggravated by the fact that he more or less fancies himself a dictator.

So far what we have seen are straightforward implementations of Project 2025 - i.e. mass deportations and cutoffs of federal funding of foreign aid. And then - the white house simultaneously denying that these are implementations of Project 2025.

What outsiders to the US do not know is that every step he takes will be challenged vigorously in the judicial system and blocked. It's hardly an absolute power scenario.

The US still is not a banana republic, yet.

After the mid-term, my prediction is that he will get rid of all these appointed people, Kash, Musk, Tulsi et al. If they pass Congressional scrutiny that is and get appointed.

Nothing wrong with trimming the bureaucracy, they are generally bloated, and mostly inefficient. A function of left wing political organizational thought.

Elon will help get it done.

Cabinet musical chairs to chalegi, no one is safe and secure.. gotta keep performing. He's a business guy, is Trump.
