I understand the point you're making but we shouldn't say this, remember what @Vsdoc says about Bengalis and it infuriates you?
Whatever someone says about Bengalis - Bengalis (and I) could care less. Bengalis stand on the shoulders of other Bengali giants - Nobel Prize winners and educated thought leaders who have changed the world (not just Bangladesh or WB) by their deeds and actions. The Sheikh and his daughter don't count.
Bengalis were the first in India to spark revolutions against the British Raj and other tyrants. East Bengal (Bangladesh) in particular. The formation of a Muslim homeland in India (Pakistan) was in no small part due to the efforts of Bengali Muslims. They also successfully led Pakistan for the first few tumultuous years.
Malcontent opinions don't matter. To each their own opinions. Opinions are like a rear end, everybody has one.
I have known hundreds of Iranian émigrés in LA, some are my very close friends. My impressions about their own ethnic group is echoed from that connection.
