How does genetics work? What causes below type extreme variations in characteristics?

In some families BOTH parents are normal, likeable and financially stable. But the variations seen in their children are as follows:

One son is a noble human, a potential winner who can succeed in life, gentle and very soft-natured. Other son is a notorious and loathsome criminal who, due to his criminal activities, gave his worried parents sleepless nights and at least a week-long fever.

Have genetic scientists discovered what causes such extreme variations in characteristics?

Eugenics is frowned upon in polite society
The last known mass practice of eugenics was in India (1976). May have been impolite - but Indira Madam was desperate.

And now Indian population has exceeded that of China's. Maybe (like China) - there should be a welcome downslide in the future,

Bangladesh did it without eugenics (fertility rate per woman is less than India's rate). In 2024, the fertility rate for Bangladesh is 1.908 births per woman (less than replacement rate), while for India, it is 2.122 births per woman.

There is no alternative to population reduction for 3rd world countries overall, preferably without eugenics. Human beings need to be healthy and productive.

Hmm, interesting, had to look that up.

During the 1975 Emergency - when civil liberties were suspended - Sanjay Gandhi, external, son of the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, began what was described by many as a "gruesome campaign" to sterilise poor men. There were reports of police cordoning off villages and virtually dragging the men to surgery.

Raul's granny and Sonja's mom in law, Indira, is generally viewed positively, even amongst us bhakt lot, but that familia as a whole are quite disgusting.

As a kid of the 80s I remember this song on national TV:

"har angan mai bas do hi phool ugayange"

"only grow 2 flowers per garden" lol

and, if memory doesn't fail me, there was a "nasbandhi" vasectomy advert too lol

waay too many people here, I'm ok being slightly fascist and disincentivizing them from breeding too much by taxing the crapola out of them 3rd child onward.

China had the right idea with their 1 child policy.
