A Pakistani Type 59 IIAP armoured tank here seen deployed at a fortified command centre at the western border fence, deployed with the Frontier Corps paramilitary.

These old tanks are obsolete in conventional warfare against modern militaries but for insurgent groups is well equipped with full-aspect armoured with 203mm of reinforced steel ballistic protection, a 12.7mm machine gun, and a 100 mm cannon with laser rangefinders.

The Frontier Corps’ commands in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have around 400 of these tanks throughout #Pakistan’s Western Border Fence with Iran and Afghanistan.
