Bhai same thing happened in Afghanistan. I personally don't believe the US has any appetite for a long drawn out proxy war. Iran/ Russia/ China can play this game all day, everyday for the next many decades. No problem.

I think USA is acting with restraint to give every party a chance of avoiding a wider conflict in the region. Restraint is not weakness, and it may be a mistake to assume one from the other.

Don't forget, US couldn't find their doctors enough facial masks and hazmats and their patients died in mass due to lack of ventilators, they can't afford any real wars now.

Till now the history always shows the countries having bigger industrial base and capability win the wars in the end, no exceptions occurred.
