Trump accused of rape by former Miss Switzerland in Epstein probe report

Former Miss Switzerland Beatrice Keul has accused US president Donald Trump of raping her during an encounter at a New York hotel in November 1993, according to a report released by Democratic lawmakers.
Keul, a model who previously accused Trump of groping her during the same incident shortly before the 2024 presidential election, made the latest allegation during interviews with Democratic committee staffers over several weeks, reports UK-based The Telegraph.
The report, released on Monday, detailed a US House Democrats’ investigation into Trump’s alleged links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his crimes.
The White House rejected the allegations in the report, with a spokesman describing them as ‘a desperate attempt by crazed Democrats to distract Americans from the surging Republican momentum driven by president Trump’s historic achievements’.
According to the report, Keul said she met Trump, then aged 47, when she was 24 at a press event for a pageant at New York’s Plaza Hotel, which he owned at the time.
She alleged that Trump offered to help her obtain a visa and secure admission to New York University, telling her, ‘I will take care of you’.
Keul said Epstein approached her shortly after Trump left their conversation. Epstein introduced himself as ‘Don’s best friend’ and invited her to a party at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort.
‘We organise many parties with Don,’ Epstein apparently told her, according to the report.
Trump has maintained that he ended his friendship with Epstein well before any suspicions of criminal wrongdoing emerged. He has repeatedly called Epstein a ‘creep’ and said he had expelled him from his Mar-a-Lago club.
The report said a representative of Trump later invited Keul to meet him upstairs at the Plaza Hotel.
‘Upon entering, Trump reportedly grabbed Keul from behind and forcibly raped her; in the process, tearing her dress and causing bleeding and bruising on multiple parts of her body,’ the report claimed.
‘Keul described the rape as ‘brutal,’’ it added.
Keul alleged that, after the incident, Trump sat her on the edge of the bed and reiterated his promises to help her obtain a visa and gain admission to NYU. He also allegedly made her promise to remain silent, saying, ‘The show must go on.’
In October 2024, Keul told the Daily Mail that Trump had kissed her on the lips and neck and tried to lift her dress during the alleged encounter at the hotel in 1993.
‘He kissed me on the lips and on the neck. He tried to lift my dress. He was grabbing and touching my body everywhere he could,’ she told the newspaper.
She said the encounter did not progress further after she tried to stop him.
‘I tried everything I could. Finally, I said ‘let’s talk first’ or something like that, then he slowed down,’ she said.
Keul, who is 6ft 1in tall, suggested that her height had ‘saved her’ from the alleged encounter escalating further.
The Daily Mail also reported that a longtime friend of Keul said she had first told him about Trump’s alleged unwanted sexual advances 20 years earlier.
According to the newspaper, the friend said her account of the incident had remained consistent over the years.
