Also, this so called "phull sapport" crowd has steadfastly and resolutely refused to strawman Iran and be drawn into the many woes and conflicts that plague the middle east.

This crowd has upped the diplomatic game manyfold... ignored all western sanctions pressure and threats, and maintained good relations with the Saudis, the Iranians, and the Israelis, and sent relief goods to the Filistinees.

A far cry from when the disgusting La Dinastia Ghandy Familia was running things.

Turkey is an example of government going against the people's will and perception so far as foreign policy is concern. Turkey people are friendly so far as India is concern. However, Turkey as a nation has engaged consistently in anti India activities and mindset. Naturally, India was not happy with Turkey's entry in Bricks and used her power to stop Turkey's entry in BRICS.

Agree with you. I have two close Turk friends. They work here. Turkish company. They love India and Indians. And always find a way to get posted back here somehow even when called back briefly.

Could you please help us understand why?

Because of the long-standing Europe tilt (that never seems to be reciprocated and fructify)?
We have trade surplus with Europe, we have trade deficit with BRICS countries. As far as I'm concerned, this alone makes Europe a more important partner for Turkey. We might need more tariffs with BRICS.

I have nothing against India. I think being allied with Pakistan shouldn't stop Turkey from developing closer ties with India too but militarily, culturally, socially, economically, in every metric you can think of Turkey belongs in the western block.

We have no business being in BRICS.

You cannot be "allied" with Pakistan and friends with India.

Its just a fact of life my friend.

Thank you for your reply. Yes it makes sense for you guys to stay out of BRICS.

But aside from being a non European NATO hedge, does Europe really want you. Why are you not in the EU? Yet.

Have you not tried?

It's not in Turkey's interests to join BRICS. If this news is true than India did us a great favor

Thanks India.

Exactly. Some here keep forgetting Turkey is a full member of NATO.

Having both NATO and BRICS membership is a bit odd - n'est ce pas?

By the way - not that it is relevant any more, but India also rejected the Bangladesh bid, when Hasina was at the helm and was a "friend of India".

In August 2023 - More than 40 countries had expressed interest in joining BRICS, of them 23 formally applied to join the bloc, which together account for about a quarter of the global economy and 41.9% of the world’s population.

Make your own conclusions.

There are other countries involved in BRICS besides India, which we should also remember for this discussion. Although some say India's influence in BRICS is on the wane.
