Right now the Maga's control the narrative in the US (until law and order is restored after Trump leaves) and these people Runjoo was fighting with are all plainclothes cops (3 or 4 of them), probably the worst racists one could meet, especially in the Mid-West and East Coast bumf*ck states. I'd take it all in stride and keep mum. Fighting like a hero would make things go downhill, as you saw. Life is not a Bollywood movie and you are not Salman Khan. Only fight the fights you can win. Like you say - living with "$hitbillay" is a choice (I'm lucky I live on the West Coast which is non-Maga territory). This is a choice I made, and so - it is what it is. Gotta live with your choices.
