Explore Power, Politics, and the Art of War: Unraveling Power Plays and Political Warfare

Mr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Sahhaf was the Iraqi Minister of Information during the 2nd Gulf war in 2003 . He was known for his ability to tell mistruths about the conduct of the war, e.g While the American tanks were right on the Jumhoria bridge in Baghdad and within a rifle range from the Palestine Meridian hotel where he was holding a press conference ; he said something like : those Americans who ventured and entered Baghdad, were burnt in their tanks .

He was famous in Iraq and throughout the Arab world during the war for calling the American soldiers “ Ulooj “, he explained on TV at the time that the 2nd Caliph Omar called the Persian and Roman soldiers Ulooj meaning mercenaries . He said further that during the Crusades , the Crusaders were also called , Ulooj meaning Zebras that stinks and added this name fits the Americans in both cases .Funnily enough he disappeared immediately after the press conference from the hotel . It appeared later that he went to the Americans who interviewed him , then released him and put him on a plane to Dubai . Perhaps they did not know what he was calling theme before , or they were magnanimous or he told them a lie about what Ulooj means which they found very pleasant !!!.Al- Sahhaf died in 2018 of good old age .

Tell me simple things.

How are your typical mornings?

What makes the contents of your stomach curdle?

I wake up with bird sound. However, I have become lazy now a days so spend my time watching defense videos and discussion. After I take bath, I do Kumbhak for 25 minutes. I do not take anything in morning. My office time is flexible, and I go to office whenever I want. No punching, No biomatrices nor even signing in register. I do not have to account for my leave. No Tea no coffee in morning. One coffee in office around 10.30 to 11.00 followed by lunch which is fruits most of the times or a simple pure veg lunch with lots of salad.

Excellent. Any real world hobbies? Fitness?

You guys are so consumed with politics - and who will take revenge on whom. Nothing matters in the end.

The art of enjoying life is to chill and take in the surroundings, especially on a weekend. Relish the finer things in life.

One of my favorite digs (especially on weekends) is Nobu in Malibu for Sushi and Sashimi, and a bit of tempura on the side for crunchy variety. Temps in the afternoon (year round) are usually around 60~65 degree F (15 degrees C). They also have a branch in Doha.
