I used to like Naseeruddin Shah's cousin also.

As long as he commented on Hindu Muslim issues.

But I was extremely disgusted when he went political and acted like Modi's hatchet man.

He lost all credibility in my eyes then.

Also one video I saw him with his (adopted?) daughter. Who he claimed to be training to become a soldier for India.

I saw no warmth between them. I sensed fear in her. And my radar were instantly up.

My mozzie radar. And my dad radar.

If you know how any product indigenised, you would not have said this. Few decades back, Indian automobile companies started importing bike and car parts to manufacture final product. In next stage, we started making small part, that followed by making of engines, that followed by those companies starting R&D centres in India followed by design studios. Today, company like Maruti Suzuki has become bigger than parent Suzuki in Japan. Same is the case with Honda India in 2 wheeler manufacturing. The old partner of Honda, Named Hero is today the largest manufacturer of two wheelers in the world. Same way, Bajaj, TVS and escort is doing exceedingly well. TVS and Bajaj together pushed Chinese company out of Africa. Same is replicated in Russia. Quality of our automobiles has surpassed that of even Japanese and German companies at Chinese price. This is how indigenisation happens.

We had two mobile manufacturing companies in India a decade back. Today, it is over 200 plants. We have a huge value addition here in India. We are starting 3 nm chip manufacturing from this year. Things are happening in a manner in which it happens globally in a particular pattern. We are secon in mobile phone manufacturing today in a small span of a decade. In next decade, we shall atleast tripple our economy. We shall be adding one BD economy every 6 months by the end of this decade.

What you described is a standard pattern in which a product gets Indigenised. India is following that pattern.

Thanks for the industrial history lesson which I have been well aware of - at least for the last three decades.

Where is the proof that India IS using indigenous parts in manufacturing iPhones??

If Foxconn did not set up shop in India, it'd still be an industrial backwater WRT cellphone manufacturing compared to China - and mostly still is.

Please provide proof.

Propaganda is one thing, reality another.
