Myanmar HAS a fleet of 16 JF-17 fighters which were delivered - starting in 2018.
sorry. I've been on Xiaohongshu for the last 48 hours. Look at the Chinese and Americans "exchanging secret intelligence”.
OK I see.sorry. I've been on for the last 48 hours. Look at the Chinese and Americans "exchanging secret intelligence”.
I don't understand this fighter at all
That may be case but for this particular purchase, light weight fighter was not under consideration. No country buys a heavy weight fighter if they have requirement of light weight fighter.
I think you need a new primer on Air Force fleet roles.
Even for trainer fleet, every Air Force has Ab initio trainers, then Lead-in trainers. Lighter/heavier, faster/slower.
Ditto with heavy and light Fighters - Point defense interceptors and Fighter-Bombers. You need both kinds. You cannot use one kind for the role of another. So - Myanmar ordering both kinds of fighter is not illogical.
This time, for a lighter lead-in trainer, they ordered the FTC-2000G, which is way cheaper than the JF-17.
$8 Million for the FTC-2000G vs. $26 Million for the JF-17. Two platforms are not comparable, different roles.
you said it Trainer is very different from a Strike Fighter bomber ...do you get it ??????I think you need a new primer on Air Force fleet roles.

You are not getting my point. Airforce need all categories of fighters but the do not but heavy weight fighter when there is a tender for light weight fighter. If they want light weight fighter, they will only consider JF17, Tejas, Gripen etc. It will never be a case when they put forward the requirement of light fighter and ends up buying heavy weight fighter.
