Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Buddha Purnima, two days after a ceasefire was announced. Invoking the path of peace shown by Lord Buddha, he declared in unambiguous terms that while India seeks peace, it will not hesitate to respond to terrorism in a language it understands.

Here are the top 10 takeaways from his speech:

  1. India Believes in Peace, But Through Strength

PM Modi invoked Gautama Buddha and remarked, “Today is Buddha Purnima. Lord Buddha showed us the path of peace. The path of peace also goes through strength.” He highlighted India’s resolve to protect peace through decisive action.
  2. Operation Sindoor Proves Might Of Made-In-India Weapons

"We have defeated Pakistan every time on the battlefield, and this time Operation Sindoor has added a new dimension...During this operation, we showed our superiority in new age warfare; the authenticity of our 'Made in India' weapons was proved. The world is seeing that it is the time for made-in-India defence equipments," PM Modi said.

Earlier in the speech, he lauded the forces saying, "We gave a free hand to forces to demolish terror, now all terror groups know what it means to wipe 'sindoor' off our women's forehead...Operation Sindoor is a vow for justice. The world saw it become a reality."

The Prime Minister dedicated the valour of Indian armed forces during Operation Sindoor to the women of India. “I dedicate their bravery to every mother, sister and daughter of our country,” he said, referring to the trauma inflicted by the Pahalgam terror attack.
  3. The New Normal Against Terror

Outlining India’s new security doctrine, Modi said, "India will respond to terror on its own terms, we will strike the roots of terrorism. India will not tolerate nuclear blackmail. There is no distinction between terrorists and their sponsors."

The Prime Minister stressed that the current era is neither of war nor of terrorism. “Zero tolerance against terrorism is the guarantee of a better world,” he said.
  4. Direct Attack on Terror Network And Advise For Pakistan

PM Modi referred to Bahawalpur and Muridke in Pakistan as “Universities of Terror” and stated, “They tried to remove the sindoor of our women, we uprooted their universities of terror.” He warned Pakistan that its continued support for terrorism would be self-destructive. “The way Pakistan’s military and government are nurturing terrorism will eventually destroy Pakistan itself. If Pakistan wants to survive, it must dismantle its terror infrastructure,” he remarked.
  5. Over 100 Terrorists Neutralised

Confirming the scale of Operation Sindoor, he said the Indian Armed Forces had “crossed a century” in terms of targets hit, making it clear that “Pakistan has been repaid in a language it understands.”

“We had reduced their terror hubs to ruins,” he said.
  6. Exposing 'Hollowness' Of Pakistani Military Capabilities

Modi said India’s precise drone and missile strikes had exposed the “hollowness” of Pakistan’s military capabilities, declaring that the Pakistani army is no match for India’s armed forces. “India’s precise drone and missile strikes targeted Pakistan’s airbases, dealing damage to their much-boasted infrastructure. Within the first three days, Pakistan was devastated beyond imagination,” he added.

Recalling the retaliatory attacks launched by Pakistan on Indian religious sites, schools, and civilian and military locations on May 8, 9 and 10, PM Modi said India’s air defence systems neutralised their missiles and drones mid-air. “Pakistan’s missiles and drones shattered like straw before India’s powerful air defence system,” he noted.
  7. Pakistan 'Pleaded' for Ceasefire

The Prime Minister reiterated that was Pakistan’s army that reached out to India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) on 10 May, following heavy losses. "After unsuccessfully pleading to the world for help, they approached Indian DGMO. By then we had destroyed the terror infrastructure on a massive scale; we killed terrorists. We turned their terror hubs into caves. So when Pakistan assured us that there would be no terror or armed misadventure, we considered their plea," he said.
  8. Terror and Talks Cannot Coexist

Concluding his address, PM Modi said, “India’s position is clear – terror and talks cannot go together. Terror and trade cannot go together. Water and blood cannot flow together.”
  9. Talks With Pakistan Only On Terror & PoK

"I want to tell the world if we hold talks with Pakistan, it will be regarding terror and PoK," PM Modi in an apparent response to United States President Donald Trump's offer for 'mediation' into the matter of Jammu-Kashmir.
  10. Operation Sindoor Is Not Over

PM Modi clarified that India had only suspended its response, not ended it. “We will assess Pakistan’s every step carefully. Operation Sindoor is India’s policy against terrorism.” He noted that the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force remain on alert to thwart any misadventure.
Operation Sindoor was launched by India during the night of 6–7 May, targeting nine terror sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the brutal killings of 26 civilians in Pahalgam. The counter-attack involved extensive drone and missile strikes on Pakistani military bases, resulting in massive damage to terror infrastructure.

Haan, radar installations and airfields toh zaroor hit kare hain in Pak.. evidence bhi dikhai uski full.

Still waiting for credible evidence of aircraft being downed either side.. there was even talk of a female IAF pilot captured in Pak after she bailed when her jet got hit.. kahaniyan bana re har type ki

Guess we all have to wait some more for the fog to lift, bhot shor macha rahe hain log, dono side ka propaganda is in overdrive. Baaki dunia bhi full mazey le rahe hain lol

Tom Cooper clearly states that India basically pulled a victory here. He’s a combat aviation author and I have many of his books. Hard to believe the HQ-9/ 16 AD systems totally failed. And on the other side the S-400 and Akash systems all performed admirably.

He says a lot in the vid with India even hitting Pakistans nukes storage sites.

Basically a Pakistani surrender.

Yes, lots of chatter about hitting nuke storage. I think it would have been warning strikes rather than hitting warheads or fissile material storage directly.

My understanding of nuclear weapons is that they are not fused but separated, dismantled rakhe jaatey hain (likely at different locations) but to be quickly fuzed in case of...

Even if they wont blow up like an ammo or fuel dump, if you hit a warhead storage facility.. radiation ka khatra is there.

Mamla full serious hai, bhai.
