I've already told you. We are culturally very different. And it stems from our religious and racial ancestry.

Olden days Hindu kings recognised that and practiced a policy of complete freedom for us ro practice our customs, and in fact went out of the way to ensure that we were able to do so under their rule.

A big example is the consecration of our holy fires and setting up of fire temples. A process than stretches for months. During which time there are very detailed rules and rituals of movement of component fires (16) and the prayers and ceremonies.

During which a Juddin (Non Zoroastrian) cannot be within a 25 km circle of the main kebla (where the fire is installed).

This was ensured by royal decree.

This was a pact between two people. And what was asked from us in return, we more than lived up to.

This hands off space for us if disturbed will not be acceptable to the community.

The trouble with these personal laws is, and I'll speak for the Hindu undivided family crap, the Muslim personal thingy and the Christy inheritance bs is that.. people get shafted by the very system that is ostensibly in place for protecting them.. you see the paradox here ?

I've seen this xhit in action with some people, they keep fighting for generations for assets that the court seals and zapt karofies.. broken system.

There is this huge azz primo beach resort property down south near where I live, court case me band hai with a bunch of siblings fighting over kis ka hai ? 100 cr minimum, may even be in the multiples, don't know exactly. Place now a bhoot bangla, ekdum decrepit, as the vegetation swallows it. Gorment also trying to zapt karo it now citing "Environmental regulation breaches"

What a colossal shame.

ok, I had rested my foot on a little porch type to tie my laces and a bunch of women came screaming (not angry) ki "hato hato hato !!"

They were warning me, ki fine ho jaata hai warna.

Place got its own "constitution" too.. musta been super nice before it became trendy, I went very late.

You can lease nearby fields for a season and grow your own, saari kheti aapki.. and the rubbing utarna is done by little kids and women, because their hands are soft and more suited to the gentle art of resin making.. you can give it a go yourself too.

^ jhoot ! (or maybe its a woman's hand) .. kids do a LOT of rubbing. They are the preferred ones for the job because their soft wittle hands got the touch.. almost a midas touch, if you think about it.. but that's the culture and tradition there.
