Educated Indians do learn (and appreciate) poetry, some are aficionados. Like myself.

The region of Mangia-la (where I am from) is actually famous for poetry and prose. It is the most intellectual and progressive region of the Indian subcontinent.

Here is one - who is a Nobel Laureate poet, Rabindranath Tagore. Some of his translated poems appear here (Lu Jian translated this book, Gitanjali),

Tagore is very famous in China. I can recite a few poems written by Tagore. Tagore is also often talked about on the Chinese Internet. His poetry is full of philosophy. Of course. Only philosophy. There's nothing else.

The problem is. On the Indian people. I did not see the power of Tagore's words. I only saw Modi Ji's joke.
