BJP and Modi have treacherous blood. If you support them unconditionally, they start treating you as granted. It is always to remain floating vote bank so that they pamper you. They have proved to be the bigger enemy of Upper caste Hindus than Congress. They have made it almost impossible for upper cast Hindus to breath freely. Ch**ya Yogi and Modi proved to be bigger enemies of upper caste Hindus than anybody else in near history. They are bringing new UGC act where only Upper caste Hindus can be held responsible in campus for fight between students.
Isn't yogi also from an akhada. A bamman?

This could be an inter bamman rivalry between peeth and akhada from way back ?

Bareilly City Magistrate Quits over Govt’s ‘Anti-Brahmin’ Stand, Shankaracharya row: 'Beaten with Feet, Kicks, and Shoes...'

Bareilly city magistrate Alankar Agnihotri resigned in a rare act of protest, citing alleged “anti-Brahmin” policies, the UGC Regulations 2026, and the Magh Mela incident involving Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand’s disciples.

Bareilly

Uttar Pradesh govt has ordered disciplinary action against Alankar Agnihotri, who resigned as Bareilly City Magistrate yesterday, and attaches him to Shamli District Magistrate.

In a rare protest against the government from within the bureaucracy, Provincial Civil Service officer Alankar Agnihotri resigned on Monday (January 26), accusing the government of pursuing an “anti-Brahmin” approach and targeting Sanatan traditions.
Agnihotri, a 2019-batch UPPCS officer currently posted as city magistrate in Bareilly, posted multiple photos on Facebook holding placards reading “take back the black law” and “boycott BJP” in the days leading up to the decision, signalling growing anger over recent developments.

His resignation letter, addressed to the UP Governor, the Election Commission and the state election commissioner, has since gone viral on social media.
In his resignation, Agnihotri sharply criticised the alleged treatment of disciples of Jyotish Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand during the Magh Mela in Prayagraj. He alleged that the disciples were dragged by their hair and beaten by the local administration while bathing on Mauni Amavasya, calling it an attack on Sanatan tradition.

"An anti-Brahmin campaign is going on in the Uttar Pradesh government for quite some time now. Brahmins are being singled out and tortured. Somewhere, a deputy jailer is beating a Brahmin. In another police station, a disabled Brahmin is being beaten to death. Just imagine the recent incidents over the last two weeks, including the Magh Mela, where on the day of Mauni Amavasya, our Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math (Jyotishpeeth), Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati Maharaj, went to take a bath. His disciples, along with elderly monks, were beaten with feet, kicks, and shoes...,"Agnihotri said.
"When the administration beats like this, do you want to send the message to people from other communities outside that when the administration beats like this, there will be a massacre? What do you want? Do you want to massacre Brahmins?" Atgnihotri told ANI.
Agnihotri also targeted the UGC Regulations 2026, claiming they would “increase harassment” of Brahmins. He alleged that the regulations portray the general category as “self-proclaimed criminals” and described the provisions framed in the name of equality as discriminatory.

“The new UGC regulations are against the general category. Those who consider themselves leaders of Brahmins are also staying silent, just like corporate employees. I appeal to them that if their conscience is still alive, they should stand with the people. When the general category is protesting, don’t you feel any shame in not standing with them?” he said.
He called upon elected representatives of the Brahmin community in the Centre and the state to resign from their posts and stand with the community, claiming that the general category was increasingly distancing itself from both the governments.

According to the UGC, the revised regulations aim to curb caste-based discrimination on campuses by formally including Other Backward Classes within the grievance framework. While the move is meant to reflect ground realities, it has triggered protests from several general category groups.

A Resignation That Raises Political Heat

In a deeply personal note to the governor, Agnihotri wrote: “I, Alankar Agnihotri, am a 2019-batch gazetted officer of the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Service, currently posted as city magistrate, Bareilly, in Bareilly district. I would also like to highlight that I earned my B.Tech degree from IIT (BHU), under the All India Hindu University, for which I will remain lifelong grateful to Bharat Ratna Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya, whose vision led to the establishment of the Banaras Hindu University. With Kashi and the brave land of Hanumanji in mind, I am expressing my thoughts candidly.”

Before his posting in Bareilly, Agnihotri served as deputy collector in Unnao, Balrampur and Etah, and as assistant municipal commissioner in Lucknow.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has ordered disciplinary action against Alankar Agnihotri and attached him to the Shamli District Magistrate. As per the order issued by the Special Secretary, Agnihotri will remain attached to the office of the District Magistrate, Shamli, until the completion of the inquiry.
Reacting to the resignation, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Fakrul Hasan Chand said, “The government has not apologized for what happened to the Shankaracharya in Prayagraj, which is why the officer felt hurt. The incident has hurt the sentiments of millions of Hindus. It is commonly said in Uttar Pradesh that this government is anti-Brahmin. The government has already committed its biggest blunder.”

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected an appeal challenging a Madhya Pradesh High Court verdict that upheld the practice of 'VIP darshan' at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain.

The appeal, filed by Darpan Awasthi, demanded that equal opportunity for darshan is provided to all the devotees in Garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) at Shri Mahakaleshwar temple Ujjain without discriminating between general and VIP devotees.

"People who file such petitions are not genuine devotees and Courts are not supposed to decide guidelines or polices with respect to such subjects," said the three-judge bench of the apex court, comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant, and Justices R Mahadevan and Joymalya Bagchi.

After hearing the counsel, Vishnu Jain, appearing for petitioner, the Court dismissed the plea and granted permission to the petitioner to the file a representation before the government authorities.

During the hearing, Jain argued that there should be a uniform policy on who is allowed to enter the Garbhagriha. "There is a violation of Article 14. Whether a person who should be allowed inside the garbhgriha, there should be a uniform policy of equal treatment."

A 'VIP' and an ordinary person visiting the Mahakal should both have the right to enter the garbha grih and offer water to the deity, Jain further contended.

The CJI-led bench, however, was not satisfied with the submissions of Jain, and clarified that it was not for the Court to decide. "Let those who are at the helm of affairs take a decision, not the Courts. If Courts start regulating who should be allowed to enter or who should not be, it's too much for the Courts," observed CJI Kant.

The petitioner, Darpan Awasthi, a resident of Ujjain, had approached the apex court against the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s judgment dated August 28, 2025, which rejected his plea.

In his appeal, Awasthi contended that the Administrative Committee of the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple cannot discriminate between VIP and general devotees, as such differentiation violates Article 14 of the Constitution of India.

Seeking interim relief, Awasthi, through his counsel Vishnu Jain, urged the Supreme Court to grant an ex parte stay on the operation of the High Court’s August 28 order.

He further sought directions restraining the respondents, the Madhya Pradesh government, the Temple Administrator, the District Collector and the Superintendent of Police, from granting permission to VIPs, VVIPs, State Guests or other influential persons to perform pooja and rituals within the Garbhagriha of the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple.

According to the plea, the petitioner and other similarly placed devotees have been aggrieved by the temple committee’s practice of allowing VIP devotees to perform pooja and rituals inside the sanctum sanctorum, while denying the same opportunity to general devotees since 2023.

Awasthi argued that the committee cannot curtail the rights of general devotees to have darshan and perform pooja, as such rights are protected under Article 25 of the Constitution of India.

The plea noted that the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Administrative Committee has been constituted under the provisions of the Shri Mahakaleshwar Adhiniyam, 1982, which, according to the petitioner, does not empower the committee to create special provisions for VIPs, politicians, bureaucrats, wealthy individuals or other influential persons.

Awasthi further submitted that the High Court failed to consider the core issue of how special provisions could be made for the entry of VIPs and VVIPs into the sanctum sanctorum for pooja and jalabhishek on special or other days, while denying the same right to general devotees.

“Every citizen has the right to worship in a temple, as guaranteed under Article 25 of the Constitution of India. The State or the Administrative Committee cannot discriminate between VIPs and the general public in matters of temple entry and worship, thereby frustrating the rights conferred under Articles 14 and 25,” the petitioner stated.

LUCKNOW: Amid the ongoing controversy involving Jyotirpeeth Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand and the Magh Mela administration, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya have taken contrasting positions, issuing differing statements on the protest.

While Chief Minister Yogi, on Thursday, implicitly criticised the protest, describing it as a conspiracy to weaken Sanatan Dharma by elements masquerading as religious leaders, Deputy Chief Minister Maurya adopted a conciliatory approach.

He said he bowed before the seer, requesting him to end the protest, close the chapter of controversy and take a holy dip at the Sangam.

Conveying a message of restraint and respect, Maurya clarified, in response to questions over the alleged insult to the Shankaracharya, that disrespect to any revered saint, acharya or Shankaracharya was unacceptable.

He said that if any instance of disrespect or insult were to come to light, an inquiry would be conducted and action taken against those found guilty.

Maurya said the priority at present was to bring the controversy to an end. He said: “I pray at the feet of Shankaracharya requesting him to end whatever protest is ongoing after taking a dip in the Sangam.”

Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said that for a yogi, saint and sanyasi, nothing was more important than religion and the nation.

He said a sanyasi had no personal property, adding that his wealth was his religion and the nation was his pride.

The Chief Minister had also said that elements who allegedly conspired to weaken Sanatan Dharma under its guise posed a threat to society. “It is necessary to be vigilant against such people,” he said.

Meanwhile, continuing his protest for the sixth day on Friday, the seer fell ill with a high fever, following which he went inside his vanity van at around 10 am. However, after 2 pm, he came out and sat on his chariot, resuming his dharna.
