60% of our meager budget gets used up for Crude/ LNG/ Diesel/ Motor oil/ Greases and importing polymer beads for making plastic bags/ goods in house/ local industry. Engro uses gas as feedstock for making ammonia/ fertilizer. Khuda ka shukar hae at least we buying discount hydrocarbons now. Doing business with Indians is a political decision. It's the same with these Irani turani.....but at least we smuggling bhai, vurna we can't even survive. We don't got dollars to pay the Qatari and UAE/ Sawdi anymore. Smuggling/ barter zindabad!
 
Bhai I read news few months back that we now buying about $3 billion in fuel/ gas from Iran and our enterprising jharrnail turn it around and sell it to our ghareeb awaam for $10 billion. Taqreeban Rs 38 ka liter at source in Iran and at the petrol pump in Karachi sells for Rs 300......... Subhaanallah ......:p

I would replace GCC with Iran and Russia. Then yous right! GCC to paa G modi de qadmon vich lott rey ne suar de pillon de tarha......salivating at the thought of Indian billions. They are going out of de way to appease Indians. Pagal ho gaey hain GCC waalay. If our jharrnails don't read this right, it will unravel us. I don't even consider Irani's as ummah chummah.......they are Zoroastrian at heart and imperialist just like anyone else cuz theys got free energy and they declared it as such back in 1979 and taking advantage of it. They have become very 'matlabi', and we need to understand that its every man n his dog for himself. The Irani's/ Russia/ China are influencing Afghani too now bigtime. We need to make up our mind where we stand. Issue is we don't know where we stand.

This stupid Economist is exaggerating. Its not as bad as it sounds in Pakistan. Otherwise China will bail Pakistan out, and Pakistan will give very favorable contracts to China.
 
One must work at the FO to determine how foreign affairs policy decisions are made. It is a very complex process; many other departments are involved, and a consensus must be reached before the decision goes ahead. Simply one person, not even the PM alone, can wake up in the morning and create a new foreign policy decision. FM is just the person who rubber stamp those decisions if it s not about anything internal admin affairs of the FO. Therefore, whatever people discuss in the media or high-profile think tanks does not affect foreign policy decisions at all.

The entire government needs to be overhauled in Pakistan. Perhaps China or Japan can teach Pakistanis how to do governance. lol.

The quality of governance, military bureucracy, and the civil service has changed a lot in Pakistan since 1969. Our family has served the government for three generations since the British time. I know how it first became terrible and then went worse. It was at its best when Ayub Khan was the president regardless if he was a dictator.
