The USA has voiced its concern about a possible Chinese military base in Bangladesh. I think the Indian government has convinced the USA that Chinese are going ahead with a plan to set up some sort of military infrastructures (Read Lalmonirhat) in Bangladesh. Lalmonirhat is an airbase that was built in 1931 by the Royal Air Force to be used for aerial combat mission. The Indian government is of the opinion that Bangladesh will allow China to build a base in Lalmonirhat which is so close to India's chicken's neck.

I think if the Chinese indeed wanted to build an airbase at Lalmonirhat in Bangladesh (a few KMs from the Indian border), they'd have done it already, without the Indians knowing.

Chinese construction tech being what it is, they'd have finished it in less than a few weeks. Besides, this is in sovereign Bangladesh territory.

Incidentally the Tripura Airport and Airbase is less than KM from the Bangladesh border. Why these idiots built it so close to the border is anyone's guess...and we should be complaining, but we are not...

Indians being paranoid, that is all.

Also - Americans really don't give a flying rat's patootie about whether India gets "inconvenienced" by presence of a Chinese airbase near the Indian border. They'd rather get a big bowl of popcorn and watch the fun. They have no skin in this game, period.

That is great. China was to built CPEC, develop Gwadar port. That was intended to threat India. What is net result today? China's 65 bn USD sunk, Pakistan ended up in debt trap and become the Chinese colony. India is enjoying. Chinese made Air defense and command centers and Nuclear facilities shot down within half of an hour with Minimum collateral Damage. War ended in 4 days.

Let BD invite China on their S**ty small air base. It will not take more than 2 strikes of Brahmos to finish it off. Jihadis believe that they will be able to harm India. No they will not. What they will get by inviting China will be BD becoming colony of China and ending in debt trap. Vinash Kale Viparit Buddhihi. No matter how many example are there in front of them, they will end up doing same mistake. BD had a great chance to become a vibrant economy and a good country. At the critical moment, Jihadis struck. They toppled the elected government and put a western puppet on the throne. In a same equivalence, Nawaz Sharif was toppled by slogans "Modi ka Yaar Hai Gaddar hai". Net result of that slogan is Atta not available today. One bail out needed every month to survive.

BD is on the same path. Let them invite China. We saw the efficacy Chinese weapons. What was given to Pakistan to punish India became instrumental in Chinese weapon humiliation and exposure in front of the world. BD seems to be going on same path.

As per the US threat assessment, China is building military installations across the globe to dwarf US influence in the world. According to the US defense planners China is in the process of building military installation in Bangladesh to expand its sphere of influence in Asia. There are other countries like Pakistan, Nigeria, Tanzania, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, UAE, Thailand, Indonesia, Cuba and Kenya where the Chinese military is building military infrastructures to achieve the strength of conducting long term military mission from far away land.
